The leader's eyes widened in realization. "You have chosen to break the curse?"

Lina nodded, her eyes never leaving her brother's. "I will not let you take my parents away from me. I will break this curse, even if it means losing him."

The leader's grip on Lina's brother's throat tightened, and he gasped for air. "No! You cannot!"
